Albion grad earns GCC weekly honor

BATAVIA- Men’s swimming and diving member Carlitos Sanchez has been named Genesee Community College Male Athlete of the Week.
At the two-day North Country Invite, Sanchez had an impressive showing against NJCAA D-1 Clarkson, NCAA D-2 Saint Michaels College, and NCAA D-3 SUNY Potsdam.
Sanchez, an Albion High graduate and a GCC sophomore, helped lead Genesee to a fourth-place finish.
Individually, Sanchez placed seventh in the Backstroke and eighth in the 100 Butterfly. He was on the relay teams that placed third in the 400 Free Relay, fourth in the 400 Medley Relay and fourth in the 200 Free Relay.
