Albion grad earns Elmira honor

Albion High graduate Caitlin Malanowski has been named Co-Athlete of the Week at Elmira College.

Malanowski, who is a Nursing major, began her freshman season with the Elmira College cross-country team by pacing all Soaring Eagles with a seventh place overall finish at the Alfred State Invitational last Saturday completing the 5,000 meter course in a time of 24:36.23.

Her seventh place finish was the second best by any Soaring Eagle since the program’s inception in 2014.

Malanowski is one of three former Niagara-Orleans League runners on the Elmira team. That trio also includes Tessa White from Medina and Caroline Connolly from Newfane, White is a Criminal Justice major and Connolly a Biochemistry major.
