Albion grad competes at swim nationals

Albion High graduate and Genesee Community College freshman Carlitos Sanchez competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association swimming championships this weekend at Buffalo.
Sanchez was a member of the GCC 200 Freestyle Relay team which placed sixth with a school record time of 1:29.69.
He was also a member of the GCC 400 Freestyle Relay team which placed seventh after winning its heat.
In the individual event competition, Sanchez placed eighth in the consolation race and 16th overall in the 50 Backstroke.
The GCC men’s team finished seventh overall and the women’s squad 10th overall at the end of the four day competition which was hosted by Erie Community College.
