Albion girls win Homecoming thriller

Avenging an early season 4-1 loss, Albion scored a narrow 1-0 Homecoming victory over Akron this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game.

Albion senior Vivian Rivers, who had a special weekend after also being honored as Homecoming queen on Friday, scored the game winner for the Purple Eagles as she made a perfect corner kick which hooked right into the goal with 9:17 remaining in the second half.

Isabella Prest earned the shutout in goal for the Purple Eagles.

Albion regains the .500 mark at 3-3-1 in N-O competition while Akron is at 5-2.
Newfane 2, Wilson 0
Front-running Newfane stayed undefeated at 7-0 in N-O action by blanking rival Wilson 2-0 as Kayleigh Daniels had a goal and an assist and Adelyn Burns a goal. Madalyn Traverse earned the shutout in goal.

The loss drops Wilson to 4-3.

Roy-Hart 2, Barker 1
Maddie Fry scored in the first half off an assist from Ava Bligh and Kayleigh Kuzma tallied in the second half from Sophia LaPort to earn Roy-Hart the 2-1 win over Barker.

Roy-Hart is now 2-5 and Barker 0-7 in league competition.
