Albion girls top Notre Dame in non league test

Improving to 5-2 Albion bested visiting Notre Dame 3-1 this evening in a non league girls soccer game.

Abby Scanlan scored the three goal hat-trick to spearhead the offense for Albion which next hosts Barker at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in a Niagara-Orleans League contest.

Scanlan gave Albion a 1-0 lead when she scored at 28:57 of the first half off an assist from Claire Squicciarini.

However, Notre Dame answered right back with the tying goal just 31 seconds later on a tally by Autumn Mathisen.

Albion though regained the lead for good when Scanlan scored with 12:03 remaining in the opening half as Nicolina Creasey earned the assist.

Scanlan later scored the clinching goal, her 12th of the season, with just 7:23 remaining in the second half again off an assist from Squicciarini.
