Albion girls top Barker to halt skid

Snapping an eight game losing streak, Albion edged past host Barker 7-5 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League game.

Meghan Hurley had 4 hits, including a home run and a double, to lead the offense for Albion which also had Savannah Allen with a double and Natalie DiCureia 2 hits.

Ellen Narburgh earned the win in the circle striking out 4.

Mary Rounds had 2 hits and Haylee Muzzillo a three-run single for Barker.

Albion is now 3-10 and Barker 5-8.

Akron 19, Wilson 14

Akron (10-3) outlasted Wilson (7-6) 19-14 as Shey Carberry and Brooke Peters both had 3 hits. Peters’ hits included a home run.

Jen Darlak had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Sam Ess 3 hits and 4 RBI for Wilson.

Newfane 6, 18, CSAT 3, 1

Newfane swept a doubleheader from visiting CSAT by scores of 6-3 and 18-1 to improve to 9-4.

Olivia Littman had 3 hits including a double in the first game for Newfane.

Casidy Geise then had 5 hits and Littman 4 in the second game.

Byron-Bergen 21, Holley 12

Anna Brasted had 4 hits, including a double and triple for Holley in th 21-12 Genesee Region League loss to Byron-Bergen.

Maddy Papaj added 3 hits, including a double, and Tabby Swift 2 hits and 2 RBIs for the Lady Hawks.
