Albion girls score cross-country sweep

Improvng to 3-1, Albion defeated Barker 24-31 and host Wilson 21-36 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League girls cross-country meet.

Meredith Patterson, Emma Mathes and Caitlyn Malanowski finished 2-3-4 to lead the way for Albion.

Barker (1-2) defeated Wilson (0-4) 23-32 in the other position of the meet as Gabby Baker took first place honors for the Lady Raiders.

The Barker boys stayed unbeaten at 3-0 by defeating Albion 22-39 and Wilson 21-40.

Wilson (1-3) nipped Albion (1-3) 27-28 in the other portion of the meet.

Barker’s Jack Hopkins won the race as Evan Pappalardo placed second and Brady Meakin fifth for Albion.

The Roy-Hart boys improved to 3-0 by nipping Akron (2-1) 27-28 as Avery Green won the race for the Rams.

The Akron girls likewise improved to 3-0 by downing Roy-Hart (1-2) as Margo Henley took first place honors.

The Newfane boys defeated Medina and CSAT by the identical score of 15-50 to improve to 3-1.

CSAT (1-3) topped Medina (0-3) 15-50 in the other portion of the meet.

Newfane’s Samuel Auernharmer won the race and Medina’s Daniel Heil took second.

The Newfane girls stayed unbeaten at 4-0 by defeating Medina 16-44 and CSAT 15-50.

Medina (2-1) gained a split by defeating CSAT (0-4) 15-50.

Newfane’s Kim Goerss won the race as Holly Heil was Medina’s top finisher in fifth place.
