Albion girls rally past Akron in N-O soccer

Trailing 1-0, Albion put together a big five goal second half rally to defeat host Akron 5-1 in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game this afternoon.

Akron had grabbed the 1-0 first half lead on a goal by Leah Patterson.

Albion though came battling back in the second half ignited by two goals by Nikki Creasey.

The Purple Eagles then put a lock on the victory as Abby Scanlan netted two goals and Cami London 1.

Albion in now 2-1 in the league and Akron 0-3.

In the other N-O contest, Wilson blanked rival Newfane 5-0.

Genesee Region League

Kendall 2, Notre Dame 2

Kendall and host Notre Dame played to a 2-2 double overtime tie in a Genesee Region League game.

A goal by Alezya Brown gave Kendall a 1-0 first half lead but Notre Dame rallied in the second half on goals by Nina Bartz and Autumn Mathisen to go up 2-1.

Kendall though rallied to earn a tie as Ava Quintern scored off an assist from Brown.

Kendall is now 2-3-1.

Wheatland-Chili 4, Lyndonville/Medina 1

Maddy Satkowski scored the lone goal for Lyndonville/Medina in the 4-1 G-R loss to Wheatland-Chili at Vets Park.

W-C led 2-0 at the half.

Holley 7, Pembroke 1

Improving to 5-1-2 overall, Holley defeated host Pembroke 7-1 in a G-R contest.

Five players contributed goals for Holley as Samantha Bates netted 3 and Jailyn Bishop, Emma Brady, Tatum Gagne and Caitlin Dobri 1 each.
