Albion girls post win over Barker

Improving to 7-4, Albion scored a 37-22 victory over host Barker this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game.

Chanyce Powell had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Justice Nauden 15 points to lead the way for Albion.

Caitlyn Mason scored 10 and Melissa Grosshans 5 for Barker which slips to 3-7.

Albion jumped out to a 15-6 first period lead as Powell netted 9 and Nauden 6 in the early going.

The Purple Eagles maintained leads of 21-13 at the half and 33-19 after three quarters.

Wilson 60, Medina 27
Undefeated defending champion Wilson romped to a 60-27 victory over visiting Medina to stay unbeaten at 11-0.

Rachel Senek had 16 points, 12 rebounds, 8 steals and 5 assists and Kayla Neumann 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 3 assists to set the pace for Wilson which led 25-13 at the half.

Holy Heil scored 9, Maddy Winters 6 and Molley Gross and Rowan Hamner 5 each for Medina which slips to 0-11.

Newfane 52, CSAT 44
Runner-up Newfane stayed just a game off the pace at 10-1 by defeating CSAT (6-5) 52-44.

Olivia Littman led Newfane’s balanced attack with 13 as Brooke Horning added 9 and Katie Kneeland and Bailey Koithan 8 each.
