Albion girls post 5th N-O soccer win

Goals in the opening seconds of each half highlighted Albion’s 7-1 victory over visiting Barker this morning in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game.

Ally Page, Emily Blanchard and Mikayla Yaskulski each scored two goals and Mariah Elsenheimer one for Albion which improves to 5-3 in N-O competition.

Yaskulski gave Albion a lightning quick 1-0 lead with a goal just 35 seconds into the game.

The Purple Eagles upped the advantage to 4-0 by halftime on goals by Page, off an assist from Elsenheimer, Blanchard from Mandi Covis and by Elsenheimer.

Yaskulski then opened the second half the same way she started the game with a goal this time just 24 seconds in as Blanchard earned the assist.

The Purple Eagles also got second half goals by Page from Covis and by Blanchard from Elsenheimer.

Kayla Moore scored the lone goal for Barker which slips to 0-7-1.

Wilson 2, Akron 1

Frontrunning Wilson stayed perfect at 8-0 with a narrow 2-1 double overtime win over visiting Akron which slips to 6-2.

Zipporah Barrett scored the game winner for Wilson in the first overtime period.

Baylee Olds netted Wilson’s other goal in the first half.

Cailin Regan scored in the first half for Akron which suffered a major loss when the Lady Tigers scoring leader, Paige Buscaglia, suffered a knee injury in the first five minutes and did not return.

Newfane 11, CSAT 1

Emily Foltz, Brianna Heers and Kylie Daniels each scored two goals to lead Newfane (6-2) to an 11-1 victory over CSAT (1-7).
