Albion pulled out the narrow win on a three by Mandi Covis with 6 seconds to go in the overtime period.

Roy-Hart had forced the extra period when Emma Lindke made two pressure free throws with just 1.9 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to knot the contest at 45-45.

Chanyce Powell, who fouled out a minute into the overtime period, took game high scoring honors for Albion with 22 and Justice Nauden netted 17. Covis added 6, Sarah Metzler 4, Jayne Bannister and Jessica Raglan 2 and Savannah Allen 1 for the Purple Eagles.

The Purple Eagles then opened the third period with a big 15-7 scoring surge to move out to an 11 point, 32-21 advantage. Powell had a total of 11 points to lead that uprising including three rebound buckets.

However, Albion came battling back as back-to-back threes by Nauden ignited a 9-0 run which rallied the Purple Eagle back into a 45-43 lead. Powell added a jumper and Allen a free throw to cap that rally.

Roy-Hart then sent the contest into overtime when Lindke made two free throws with just 1.9 seconds to go to retie the contest at 45-45.

Albion jumped out to a 49-45 lead at the outset of the four minute overtime period on buckets by Powell and Raglan only to see Roy-Hart rally right back into a tie on a layup by Hill and two free throws by Lindke.

Two free throws by Nauden off a steal put Albion up 51-49 but again Roy-Hart answered right back with a tying basket, this time a jumper by Hill, which evened the contest at 51-51 with 15 seconds remaining.
