Albion girls nip Akron in overtime; Roy-Hart posts win over Medina

Akron outlasted host Akron 48-46 in overtime this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game.

Abby Scanlan scored four points and Honesty Little two in the decisive overtime period for Albion.

Scanlan had a total of 18 points and Little 10 along with 10 rebounds.

Jessee Jonathan scored 15 and Jayni Sundown 9 for Akron.

The contest was deadlocked 42-42 at the end of regulation time.

Albion and Akron are now both 3-2.

Roy-Hart 63, Medina 24

Holding a narrow 13-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, Roy-Hart broke the contest open by outscoring Medina 21-4 in the second period in route to posting a 63-24 win.

Rileigh McCabe scored 15 and Claire Halstead, Shelby Wolf and Kara Choate each added 10 for Roy-Hart. Ava Owens chipped in with 8, Mya Quinn 6 and Miah Glena and Ryan Hiller 2 each. 

Choate scored 9 in the decisive second period as the Lady Rams opened up a commanding 34-15 lead at the half..

Faithann Vanderwalker scored 9, Anya Bloom 7,  Lyla Lilleby 6 and Paige Adkins 2 each for Medina.

Roy-Hart is now 2-2 and Medina 0-4.
