Looking to rebound from last year’s 1-9 league record, Albion is prepping for the upcoming Niagara-Orleans season led by a large group of a dozen returnees.

That group includes seniors Kayla Burgio, Sophia Albanese, Alison Gibson, Lucy Rivers, Autumn Flugel, Abby Wittenberg and Jacqueline Santiago-Garcia; juniors Olivia Brooks, Cami London, Kenzi Snook, Rori Higgins and sophomores Julia Button and Kailee Anstey.

London earned second team N-O All-League honors while Albanese, Gibson and Wittenberg all earned Honorable Mention.

“We’ve got a good group back and they are working hard so we’re looking for a good season,” said Coach Maggie Orbaker.

Albion will open the season on Wednesday by facing Pembroke in the opening round of the Purple Eagles Tournament. The other opener will have Medina vs. Alexander. Both games are scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
