Albion girls edge Roy-Hart in N-O finale
Rebounding strongly from an 0-3 start, Albion notched its eighth Niagara-Orleans League victory in the last nine games by edging visiting Roy-Hart 35-33 this evening to wrap up the regular season.
Abby Scanlan scored 15, Madison Hughson 8 and Sydney Mulka and Aurora Serafin 6 each for Albion which finishes the N-O campaign at 8-4.
The Purple Eagles led 17-12 at the half and 26-20 after three-quarters.
Scanlan scored 5 in both the first and second quarters and Hughson 6 in the third.
Ava Owens scored 15 and Claire Halstead and Kaitlin Mettler 6 each for Roy-Hart which finishes the N-O season at 5-7. Owens scored 8 in the final period including hitting a pair of threes.
Wilson 58, Medina 29
Wilson completed a perfect 12-0 N-O title season by besting host Medina 58-29.
Bella Lemke scored 21 and Kaelin Faery and Peyton McInnis 11 each for Wilson.
Rylee VanNostrand took game high honors with 22 for Medina.
Final N-O Standings: Wilson 12-0, Newfane 9-3, Albion 8-4, Akron 6-6, Roy-Hart 5-7, Barker 1-11, Medina 1-11.
