Albion girls down Medina to extend win streak; Roy-Hart trims Barker

Making it four wins in a row, Albion downed visiting rival Medina 40-25 in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game this evening.
Sydney Mulka led Albion with a game high 14 points as Abby Scanlan added 9, Aurora Serafin 7, Kenzie Snook 4. Madison Hughson 3 and Olivia Krenning 2.
Rylee VanNostrand scored 13, Stella Poler 8 and Tatyana Baity 4 for Medina.
Steadily pulling away, Albion built up leads of 11-4 after one period, 20-11 at the half and 36-17 after three quarters. Mulka scored 8 in the third period.
Albion improves to 7-4 and Medina 1-10.
The Purple Eagles close out the N-O season on Thursday by hosting Roy-Hart while Medina entertains Wilson.

Roy-Hart 50, Barker 47
Roy-Hart made it three N-O wins in a row by edging Barker 50-47.
Ava Owens scored 18, Claire Halstead 16 and Kara Choate 8 to lead the way for Roy-Hart.
Alyssa Thompson scored 16, Anna Bowerman 14 and Mia Herman 13 for Barker.
Roy-Hart is now 5-6 in N-O action while Barker finishes at 1-11.
Newfane 37, Akron 36
Newfane trimmed Akron 37-36 to finish the N-O campaign at 9-3.
Jensen McGhee led Newfane with 11 and Sophia Jones paced Akron with 10.
Akron, which finishes the N-O season at 6-6, led 20-16 at the half. Newfane rallied to take a 30-26 lead at the end of the third quarter.
