Albion girls down Medina, R-H in X-C

Roy-Hart boys sweep Albion, Medina to go to 5-0

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Medina’s Holly Heil, Albion’s Meredith Patterson and Roy-Hart’s Anna Rickard finished 1-2-3 in this afternoon’s girls meet at Albion.

Improving to 5-1, Albion defeated Medina 24-34 and Roy-Hart 22-36 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League girls cross-country meet at Albion.

Roy-Hart, which is now 2-3, edged Medina (2-3) 27-29 in the other portion of the meet.

Medina’s Holly Heil won the race in 21:20.

Albion’s Meredith Patterson finished second and her teammate Caitin Malonowski fourth.

Anna Rickard placed third and Kelsey Ciemny fifth for Roy-Hart.

The Roy-Hart boys squad stayed perfect at 5-0 by defeating Albion 25-31 and Medina 15-50. Albion, which is now 2-4, also downed Medina (0-5) 15-50.

Roy-Hart’s Avery Green won the race in 18:05 as his teammate Ben Bacon placed fifth.

Medina’s Daniel Heil finished second.

Evan Pappalardo placed third and Brady Meakin fourth for Albion.

Roy-Hart’s Avery Green, Medina’s Daniel Heil and Albion’s Evan Pappalardo finished 1-2-3 in the boys race at Albion.

The defending champion Barker boys squad stayed unbeaten at 5-0 by downing Newfane 26-33 and Akron 19-42.

Newfane, which is now 4-2 defeated Akron (2-3) 22-33 in the other portion of the meet.

The 3-4-5 finish by Jack Hopkins, Jake Arnold and Adam Wagner sparked Barker to the wins.

Newfane’s Sam Auernharmer won the race in 17:09.

The Newfane girls improved to 6-0 by defeating Akron 20-35 and Barker 15-44. Akron (4-1) also downed Barker (1-4) 16-44.

Newfane’s Kim Goerss won the race.
