Albion girls top Barker; Roy-Hart wins in OT

Building up a 22-7 half-time advantage, Albion went on to defeat visiting Barker 41-19 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game.

Abby Scanlan scored 16, Madison Hughson 10 and Sydney Mulka 8 for Albion which was celebrating Senior Night. Scanlan also had 8 steals, Hughson 6 and Aurora Serafin 3.

Mia Herman and Alyssa Thompson each scored 8 for Barker.

Albion improves to 5-4 and Barker slips to 1-9.

Roy-Hart 49, Akron 46 (OT)

Roy-Hart outlasted visiting Akron 49-46 in overtime as Kaitlin Mettler scored 7, Claire Halstead 3, Ava Owens 2 and Kara Choate 1 in the extra period.

Owens finished with a game high 20, Mettler 11, Halstead 7 and Choate 3.

Sophia Jones scored 16 for Akron.

The contest was deadlocked at 36-36 at the end of regulation time.

Akron is now 6-3 and Roy-Hart 3-6.

Wilson 42, Newfane 23

Putting a lock on the N-O title, defending champion Wilson downed rival Newfane 42-23 as Peyton McInnis scored 16 and Lilah Frerichs 10 to stay unbeaten at 10-0.

N-O Standings: Wilson 10-0, Newfane 7-3, Akron 6-3, Albion 5-4, Roy-Hart 3-6, Medina 1-8, Barker 1-9.

Karlee Rounds scored 12, Ella Lewis 9 and Ashlee Stephens 6 for Lyndonville in the 51-35 Genesee Region League loss at Elba.

Sydney Riley and Kennedy Augello each scored 15 to pace Elba.

Attica 51,  Holley 27
Tatum Gagne scored 12 and Sam Bates 11 for Holley in the 51-37 G-R loss to Attica which led 25-13 at the half.
