Albion girls claim U18 Division soccer title

Albion bested host Batavia/Alexander 4-2 this evening to capture the Rochester District Soccer League girls U18 Division 3 championship.

Albion, which finishes the season undefeated at 8-0-2, built up a 3-1 half-time advantage on 2 goals by Sarah Gregori and one by Paige Derisley.

Catherine Thom chipped in with an insurance goal in the second half off an assist from Brylie Hapeman.

The Albion defense was anchored by the quartet of Vivian Rivers, Natalie DiCureia, Paige Derisley and Zoe Chatfield.

The contest was the final Albion soccer game for Catherine Thom and Vivian Rivers, who are headed to college. Rivers will be playing soccer for the Highlanders at Houghton College.
