Getting goals from six different players, No.7 seed Albion posted a 7-0 victory over visiting No. 10 Depew this afternoon in the opening round of the Section VI Class B1 girls soccer playoffs.

Albion grabbed a 2-0 lead late in the first half as Samantha Basinait scored off an assist from Nikki Creasey with 16 minutes to go and then Abby Scanlan tallied with five minutes remaining from Elise Bropst.

The Purple Eagles then broke the game open with a pair of quick goals in the first seven minutes of the second half.

First Creasey scored off an assist from Cami London three minutes in and then Aly Knaak tallied unassisted four minutes later to make it 4-0.

Keeping the momentum, the Purple Eagles then had London score from Creasey, Creasey from Scanlan and Emily Harling from Ryan Olles to round out the scoring parade.

Improving to 11-4, Albion will next visit No. 2 seed East Aurora in the quarterfinals on Friday.

In a Class B2 contest, Akron defeated Alden 3-1.

Albion’s duo of Kenzi Hapeman and Cami London block Depew’s Laure Silsby from the ball.
