Currently a starter on the girls varsity soccer team Albion High freshman Cami London is also playing at the top national level of girls hockey.

London plays for the Amherst Lady Knights Tier I team a U14 squad which competes in the National Girls Hockey League (NGHL).

The Lady Knights went 5-0 this past weekend at the NGHL season opening Dawg Daze of Summer Invitational Showcase as London scored a league high points total with 5 goals and 6 assists.

“This is the second year I’ve coached Cami. She was a terrific player last year and she’s stepped it up this year. She’s quicker and faster,” said Lady Knights Coach Tim DiGiulio. “She just has a desire to score goals and every game she’s getting better. She’s solid in all three zones and is really turning into a complete hockey player. She’s a leader, a team captain a great teammate and is totally unselfish. She is just a pleasure to coach.”

“This is the highest level she can play,” said her mom Tracey London who notes that Cami has been playing hockey for eight years. “It’s a family sport. Her brother and cousins play.”

She kept sharp over the summer by playing for an elite team in Boston, TeamONE which took her to New England for several weekends over the summer.

“She plays a lot of hockey,” said Tracey. “She loves the game. Her desire is to play Division 1 college hockey.”

The Lady Knights next NGHL Showcase event will be the Connecticut Cup Showcase over the Columbus Day weekend.
