Albion downs rival Medina in N-O softball

Scoring in four different innings, Albion shutout visiting Medina 7-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game this afternoon.
Leah Pawlak banged out a double and two triples and winning pitcher Alana Irvine had 3 hits including a home run to spark the Albion offense.
Irvine’s home run ignited a three-run fifth inning scoring burst.
Pawlak had a triple and came home with the Purple Eagles first run in the third inning. She also doubled during a two run four inning and tripled in the sixth when the Purple Eagles picked up their final run.
Savannah Jo Thompson had 2 hits including a double for Medina.
Albion is now 2-1 and Medina 0-2 in N-O action.
Roy-Hart 13, Newfane 6
Roy-Hart bested Newfane 13-6 in another N-O contest as Abby Fox registered 13 strikeouts in the circle.
At the plate for the Lady Rams, Kaitlin Mettler had 3 hits including a pair of doubles and 3 RBIs, Fox and Savanna Holt 2 hits apiece and Maddy Totah 1 hit and 2 RBIs.
In the other N-O contest, Wilson downed Akron 17-4.
