Scoring in each of the first six innings Albion posted a 9-5 win over visiting Kendall in a non league baseball game this afternoon.

Kendall did grab a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Nate Shaw.

However, Albion answered right back with two runs in the home half of the frame on an RBI single by Javon Jones and an RBI sacrifice fly by Caleb Fox to take the lead for good. Leadoff singles by Tyler Gibson and Jacob Hughson set up the threat.

Keeping the momentum, the Purple Eagles went on to build up an 8-2 lead by scoring once in the second on a single by Hughson, twice in the third on a bunt single by Chris Sacco and a sacrifice fly by Dallas Ecker, twice in the fourth on a home run by Amari Jones and once in the fifth on an error.

Kendall did come battling back with one run in the fifth on a single by Reuben Marquess and three in the sixth on a bases loaded walk and a two-run single by Louis Conte but the Eagles could get no closer than 8-5.

Albion picked up an insurance run in the home half of the sixth on an RBI single by Cade Wolcott.

Gibson, who came on in the sixth in relief of starter Amari Jones, then closed out the win by retiring Kendall in order in the top of the seventh. Amari Jones allowed 5 hits and struck out 7 in five and two-thirds innings of work.

Gibson, Hughson, Brendan LeBaron and Amari Jones each had 2 hits on the day for Albion as did Marquess for Kendall.
