Fifth seeded Albion dropped a 13-3 decision to undefeated LeRoy 1 Wednesday evening in the championship game of the Batavia U16 League playoffs.

Albion scored twice in the top of the third inning on RBI singles by Bryce Kelly and Patrick Ricker to cut the deficit to 4-2.

However, LeRoy 1 quickly answered with 3 runs in the home half of the frame and then pulled away with 4 more tallies in the fourth inning.

Albion’s only other run came on an RBI double by Ricker in the fifth frame.

Kelly finished with 3 hits as Deyonci Farley and Ricker both added 2.

Albion advanced to the title contest by posting an 11-6 win over Batavia 1 earlier in the evening in the consolation finals.

Trailing 6-2, Albion got back into the game on a three-run home run by James Denencourt in the fourth inning.

Keeping the momentum, Albion then grabbed the lead for good by erupting for 6 runs in the fifth frame on a double by Farley, singles by Ricker, Ryan Krenning, Zander Meakin and a pair of walks.

Farley had 2 doubles as Krenning and Meakin also both had a pair of hits.
