Albion clinches tie for N-O boys track title

Remaining undefeated at 5-0, Albion clinched at least a tie for a second straight Niagara-Orleans League boys track title by downing visiting Wilson 109-31 this afternoon.

Chris Shabazz was a triple winner in the Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump and Reuben Rivers doubled in the 1600 and 3200 and Dominic DiGiulio in the Shotput and Discus to lead the way for Albion.

The Purple Eagles also got individual event wins by Zach Colececchi (400), Tony Freeman (400 Hurdles), Shkwe Riley (800), Cincere Lowe (200) and Junior Morales (Pole Vault),

The Albion girls completed the sweep by downing Wilson 96-45 to improve to 3-2.

S’koi Sanders captured both the 400 and Triple Jump for the Purple Eagles whose other  individual winners included Claire Squicciarini (100), Kayla Burgio (1500), Bri Haines (Pole Vault), Saleya Williams (Long Jump), Grace Elschker (Shotput), Honesty Little (High Jump) and Emilee Boring (Discus).

Maddy Schultz doubled for Wilson in the 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles.

Medina splits with Roy-Hart

Improving to 3-2, the Medina boys defeated Roy-Hart 92-46 as Donte Rhim won the 100 and Long Jump, Kaedon Cleveland the 110 Hurdles, Gabe Mark the 800, Bryson Costich the 200, Christian Drisdom the High Jump and Ethan Stonebreaker the Discus.

Jay Heideman doubled in the 1600 and 3200 and Chris Ulrich in the 400 and High Jump for Roy-Hart which is now 1-4.

The Roy-Hart girls downed Medina 97-39 to improve to 3-2.

Nadia White doubled in the 400 and Triple Jump, Alexis Cacciatore in the 100 and 800 and Amelia Costante in the 200 and Long Jump to lead the way for the Lady Rams.

Devin Griffin was a double winner for Medina in the 100 Hurdles and High Jump where she set a new school record of 5-4.

Newfane girls clinch tie for title

In a key battle of unbeatens Newfane (5-0) bested Akron (4-1) 91-50 to clinch at least a tie for the N-O title.

Mel Myers was a triple winner in the Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump for Newfane which also got double win efforts from Ashlin Joseph (100 Hurdles, 400 Hurdles) and Gina Shorter (100, 200).

The Newfane boys downed Akron 121-15 as Xavier Thomas tripled in the Shotput, Pole Vault and Triple Jump and Dakota Baker doubled in the 100 and 200.

Barker tops Tapestry in non league meet

Barker swept Tapestry in a non league meet winning the boys’ competition 66-38 and the girls’ 54-52.

Mason Allee-Castro doubled in the 800 and 1600 and Laci Giaria in the 400 Hurdles and Triple Jump for Barker.
