Albion clinches tie for N-O boys swim title

Albion posted a 123-36 victory over host Barker this afternoon to clinch at least a tie for the Niagara-Orleans League boys swim championship.

Matt Kovaleski doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke and Harrison Brown in the 50 Free and 100 Free to lead the way for Albion which stays perfect at 8-0.

The Purple Eagles also got individual event wins from Sam Sanchez (100 Butterfly), Thomas Furmanski (100 Backstroke), Chase Froman (200 Free) and Josh DePoty (500 Free).

The Albion girls earned victory No. 1 for the season by downing Barker 76-67 as Michaela Pantano doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Butterfly.

Avery Gaines also took the 200 Free and Sierra Kast the 500 Free for the Purple Eagles.

Natalie Bruning doubled for Barker in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke.

Medina splits with Newfane
The Medina boys squad improved to 5-3 by downing host Newfane 103-55 as August Pietrafesa took the 200 Free, Dawson Brown the 200 Individial Medley, Hunter Heil the 100 Butterfly, Jaden Pencille the 100 Breaststroke and Ray Paull the 100 Backstroke.

Newfane downed Medina 90-80 in the girls meet.

Hannah Heil won the 50 Free, Olivia Carter the 100 Backstroke and Grace Cogovan the 100 Breaststroke for Medina.
