Albion claims 6th straight N-O boys track title

Albion locked up a sixth straight Niagara-Orleans League boys track championship by besting host Newfane 90.5 – 50.5 this afternoon in a regular season ending match up of 5-0 teams.
The Purple Eagles are now 36-0 over the past six N-O title seasons.
Kyle Radder doubled in the High Jump and 110 Hurdles, Luke Bell in the Shotput and Discus, Cencere Lowe in the Long Jump and Triple Jump and Hunter Huscher in the 100 and 200 for Albion which also had Tye Talbot win the 400 and Jayden Lewis the 400 Hurdles.
Liam Betteridge was a triple winner for Newfane in the 800, 1600 and 3200.
Newfane gained a split on the day by downing Albion in the girls’ meet 85-56 as Eden Hillman was a triple winner in the 1500, 3000 and Pole Vault and Stephanie Chunco a double winner in the 100 and 800.
Mia Standish doubled in the 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles for Albion.
Adrian Figueroa-Fuentes sprints to the finish line in the 4 by 800 relay. Figueroa-Fuentes made up a lot of ground in the last stretch of the race to pull off a big come-from-behind win for Albion in the early going of today’s meet. Roy-Hart splits with Wilson
Roy-Hart downed Wilson 84-57 in the boys’ meet as Braden Ricker doubled in the 100 and 200.
Ryan Hough was a triple winner in the 110 Hurdles, Long Jump and Triple Jump and Jayden Ruble doubled in the 1600 and 3200 for Wilson.
The Wilson girls stayed undefeated at 5-0 by downing Roy-Hart 86-55 as Savannah Jones doubled in the 100 and 200.
Roy-Hart had two double winners as Kylie McOmber won the 100 Hurdles and Triple Jump and Julia Rohde the 1500 and 3000.
Barker and Akron split
Barker topped Akron 80-50 in the boys’ meet as Anthony Taliaferro won he 200 and Triple Jump, Caleb Alexander the Shotput and Discus and Peyton Wagner in the 800 and 1600.
Quinn O’Malley was a triple winner for Akron in the 110 Hurdles, High Jump and Long Jump.
Akron won the girls’ meet 96-45 as Madigan Regan doubled in the 800 and 1500.
Jordyn Kinne doubled in the 100 Hurdles and Long Jump for Barker.
