Albion cagers down Akron; Friday games ppd.

A balanced attack keyed Albion to a 71-47 victory over host Akron this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball game.

Deyonci Farley scored 15, Bryce Pritchard and Liam Ward 14 and Demetrius Gardner 10 to led the Purple Eagles offense,

Farley scored 6 points and Ward 5 in the opening quarter to help Albion grab an 18-8 lead.

The Purple Eagles went on to up the advantage to 19, 38-19, at the half.

Both teams are now 1-2 in N-O competition.

Closings cause Friday postponements
The frigid temperatures and wind chill which caused all area schools to be closed Friday has in turn resulted in a number of sporting events postponements

Those postponements include the Roy-Hart vs. Medina, Akron vs. Albion, Wilson vs. Barker, Holley vs. Elba, Kendall vs. Oakfield-Alabama and Pembroke vs. Lyndonville girls basketball games; the Barker at Wilson and Holley at Attica boys basketball games and the Medina at Newfane, Akron at Roy-Hart and Barker at Albion swim meets.
