Taking charge in the second half, Albion posted a 5-1 victory over visiting Medina this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game.

Finishing the N-O campaign at 8-6, Albion erupted for four unanswered second half goals, including two each by Natalie DiCureia and Emily Blanchard, to break away from a 1-1 half-time deadlock.

Albion moved on top to stay at 2-1 when DiCureia scored on a rebound shot just 8:23 into the second half.

Blanchard doubled the Purple Eagles advantage to 3-1 when she scored off a corner kick by Monica Benjovski just 10 minutes later.

Blanchard then put a firm lock on the Albion victory when she scored off an assist from Mikayla Yaskulski with 18:43 remaining for a 4-1 Purple Eagles lead.

DiCureia rounded out the big scoring half with a goal in the final 10 seconds.
