Albion bested Honeoye  in a shootout this evening in the opening round of the Byron-Bergen soccer tournament.

The contest was deadlocked at 2-2 at the end of regulation time as Albion got goals from Alex Gibson and Angel Rosario.

Neither team could find the net in two sudden death overtime periods setting the stage for the deciding penalty kick shootout.

Albion got penalty kick goals from Spencer Sietmann, Rosario and Isaac Neidert.

Albion goalie Omar Peterson made big saves on two of Honeoye’s penalty kids as another one went high over the goal.

The Purple Eagles will face the winner of the East vs. Byron/Bergen game in the championship contest on Saturday.
