Looking to rebound from last year’s 4-6-2 league record, Albion returns a very large group of 14 returnees with which to challenge for Niagara-Orleans soccer honors this season.
The senior quartet of forward Nick Reed, midfielders Owen Foos and Donato Rosario and defender Joe Madjeski head that veteran contingent which also includes juniors Preston Flugel (forward), Devin Gaylord (goalie), Noah Goudreau (midfield), Hayden Pecoraro (forward), Brad Sanford (defender) and Nate Smith (defender) along with sophomores Kendyll Hadick (forward), Connor McQuillan (forward), Elliott Neidert (defender) and Nate Scanlan (midfielder).
Rosario earned first team N-O All-League honors while Reed and Sanford were Honorable Mention selections.
Pecoraro scored 7 goals while Hadick netted 4 and McQuillan and Scanlan 3 each.
“We have a lot of experience,” said Coach Keith Akers. “The big thing is we have to be a little more offensive oriented and capitalize more on our opportunities. The experience we have coming back should really help us with that.”
Albion will tune up for the August 31 N-O opener at Akron by visiting Avon on August 29.
