Albion blanks R-H; Newfane downs Medina

Streaking Albion made it six straight Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer wins with a 2-0 victory over Roy-Hart this evening under the lights at Gasport.

Emily Blanchard scored what proved to be the game winner for Albion 12 minutes into the first half off an assist from Brylie Hapeman.

Hapeman then scored an insurance goal for the Purple Eagles midway through the second half as Blanchard earned the assist.

Isabella Prest earned the shutout in goal.

Albion is now 6-3-1 and Roy-Hart 2-8.

Newfane 7, Medina 1
Pulling away in the second half, front-running Newfane rolled to a 7-1 victory over Medina this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game at Vets Park.

Breaking away from a 1-1 deadlock, Newfane exploded for five goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half to take charge.

Megan Knoll and Emily Foltz both had a pair of goals to lead that uprising which also included a tally by Makena Carpenter. Kayleigh Daniels scored later in the half to round out the Lady Panthers scoring.

Erica Flagler scored for Newfane and Martha Gardner for Medina on a penalty kick in the first half.

Newfane is now 9-1 in the league and in front by two games as the result of Wilson’s win over Akron. Medina is 3-5-1.
Wilson 4, Akron 3 OT
Kayla Neuman scored all four goals for Wilson (6-3) in the overtime win over Akron (6-3).

Amanda Swader, Kara Sequin and Jenna Robnett each scored a goal for Akron.
