Albion, Barker boys; Roy-Hart, Akron girls share N-O swim titles; Medina earns split

Albion and Barker both scored victories this afternoon to share the Niagara-Orleans League boys swim championship at 9-1.

Albion defeated Roy-Hart 63-31 and Barker downed Newfane 100-66.

The N-O title is the first for Albion since the 2005-06 season and for Barker since the 1987-88 campaign.

The Roy-Hart and Akron girls likewise both scored victories to share the N-O championship at 9-1.

Roy-Hart defeated Albion 70-20 and Akron downed Medina 111-59.

Roy-Hart last claimed an N-O title during the 1993-94 season and Akron during the 1991-92 campaign.

In the other N-O action, the Medina boys defeated Akron 101-59 to improve to 5-4 and the Newfane girls downed Barker 106-64 to likewise go to 5-4.

Sam Sanchez doubled in the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly and Harrison Brown in the 100 Free and 200 Individual Medley to set the pace for the Albion boys as Matt Kovaleski took the 100 Breaststroke, Thomas Furmanski the 100 Backstroke and Carlitos Sanchez the 50 Free.

Andrew Jenks doubled in the 100 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly and Collin Webb in the 50 Free and 100 Backstroke to lead the Barker boys as Adam Wagner took the 200 Free.

Thomas Schultz doubled for Newfane in the 200 Free and 500 Free.

Kayla Hagen doubled in the 100 Butterfly and 500 Free, Amanda Hill in the 50 Free and 100 Free and Madison Ohol in the 200 free and 100 Backstroke for the Roy-Hart girls.

Morgan Harris doubled in the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly and Madison Harris in the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Free to lead the Akron girls.

Hannah Heil was a double winner for Medina in the 50 Free and 100 Free.

August Pietrafesa won the 50 Free and Dan Heil the 100 Breaststroke for the Medina boys.

The Seahorses  also swept the three relays as Pietrafesa, Ray Paull, Jack Hill and Dan Heil won the 200 Medley; Hill, Chris Goyette, Dawson Brown and Hunter Heil the 200 Free and Paul, Mason Pecoraro, Pietrafesa and Dan Heil the 400 Free.

Andrew Buyea doubled in the 200 Free and 500 Free and Jacob Cobti in the Individual Medley and Butterfly for Akron.

Lauren Gaughn was a double winner for the Newfane girls in the 300 Free and 500 Free while Sara Gendrue doubled for Barker in the Individual Medley and Breaststroke.
