Albion and Roy-Hart split in N-O track
Albion and host Roy-Hart both came away with a victory in a Niagara-Orleans League track meet this afternoon.
Defending champion Albion won the boys’ meet 73-63 and Roy-Hart took the girls’ competition 88-48.
The Albion boys were led by individual event winners Brian Spall (400 Hurdles), Jr. Morales (Pole Vault), Cencere Lowe (Long Jump), Dayne Aina (Shotput), Ricky Lilly (Discus) and Jahmeek Riley (High Jump).
The Roy-Hart boys had James Heideman double in the 1600 and 3200 and Trent Choate in the 100 and 200.
Albion is now 3-0 and Roy-Hart 0-1.
Nadia White was a triple winner for the Roy-Hart girls in the 800, Long Jump and Triple Jump while Albion’s Abby Scanlan doubled in the 100 and 200.
Roy-Hart is 1-0 and Albion 0-3.
Newfane sweeps Barker
Newfane bested Barker 92-48 in the boys’ meet and 124-17 in the girls’ competition.
Max Czekj doubled in the 110 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles for the Newfane boys.
The Newfane boys are 1-0 and Barker 0-3.
The Newfane girls had Mel Myers triple in the Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump as Gina Shorter doubled in the 100 and 200 and Kylie Bowman in the 1500 and 3000.
The Newfane girls are now 2-0 and Barker 2-1.
