Albion and Roy-Hart split in N-O track meet

Remaining undefeated at 5-0, Albion defeated host Roy-Hart 82-41 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League boys track meet.

Tre Yaskulski doubled in the 110 Hurdles and Triple Jump and Nate Moore in the High Jump and Long Jump for Albion which also got individual event wins from Ozzie Matos (400), Kyle Pappalardo (800), Sam Sanchez (200), Ugene Harrison (100) and Malachi Sugar (Pole Vault).

Ozzy Moore doubled in the 1600 and 3200 and Will Rickard took the 400 Hurdles for Roy-Hart which finishes the dual meet portion of the N-O season at 3-3.

Roy-Hart did gain a split on the day by downing Albion 71-52 in the girls meet to go to 3-3.

Anna Rickard doubled in the 1500 and 3000 and Nadia White in the 400 and Triple Jump for Roy-Hart as Bri Meaney took the 400 Hurdles and Kali Scharping the High Jump with a new school record leap of 5-3.

Honesty Little was a double winner in the 100 Hurdles and Long Jump for Albion as Claire Squicciarini took the 100, Abby Scanlan the 200, Emma Mathes the 800 and Bri Haines the Pole Vault in a school record vault of 9-3.

Medina splits with Akron
The Medina boys defeated host Akron 77-55 as Trenton Crews doubled in the 110 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles and Caelan Holland in the 1600 and 800. The Mustangs also had Cameron Castanon win the 3200, Lincoln Pace the Shotput, Christian Drisdom the High Jump and Jarin Rhim the Long Jump.

The undefeated (4-0) Akron girls downed Medina 104-37.

Lauren Wagner doubled in the 800 and 1500 and Haley Hall in the 100 Hurdles and 100 for Akron.

Medina had a double winner in Olivia Carter who took the High Jump and Long Jump.

Newfane and Barker split

The Barker boys (3-2) nipped Newfane (2-2) 71-70 as Jacob Cirillo doubled in the 400 Hurdles and Pole Vault.

Reese Casinelli won the 100, 200 and 400 and Tyler Catrell took the Long Jump and Triple Jump.

The undefeated (4-0) Newfane girls downed Barker (2-3) 109-27 as Gina Shorter doubled in the 100 and 200, Kim Goerss in the 400 Hurdles and 3000 and Mel Myer in the Long Jump and Triple Jump.

Shelby Ewald doubled for Barker in the Shotput and Discus.

Diamond postponements
Morning rain caused the postponement of today’s schedule of the Kendall vs. Lyndonville, Barker vs. Albion and Roy-Hart vs. Akron baseball games as well as the Lyndonville vs. Byron-Bergen, Albion vs. Newfane and Akron vs. Barker softball contests. The Medina at Albion tennis match was also postponed.

Albion’s Ugene Harrison leads Roy-Hart’s Eli Ostrander and his Purple Eagles teammate Kendyll Hadick to the finish line in the 100.
