Albion and Roy-Hart score wins; Medina bows in N-O softball action

Albion and Roy-Hart both scored victories in Niagara-Orleans League softball competition this afternoon.

Albion edged host Wilson 6-4 and Roy-Hart blanked visiting Akron 2-0.

In the other N-O contest, Newfane downed host Medina 20-6.

Albion 6, Wilson 4
Lux Froman had a two-run double in the fifth inning and Cami London an RBI double in the top of the seventh for Albion which also scored three times in the fourth aided by a two-run error.

Froman had 3 hits on the day while  Rowan Simpson had 2 for Wilson.

Alana Irvine scattered 6 hits and struck out 8 in the circle for the Purple Eagles.

Albion is now 1-1 and Wilson 2-1 in N-O action.

Roy-Hart 2, Akron 0
Abby Fox struck out 2 and allowed only 3 hits in the circle to help lead Roy-Hart to the shutout win over Akron.

Fox and Olivia Marsillo had hits for the Lady Rams.

Roy-Hart is now 1-1 and Akron 0-2 in league play.

Newfane 20, Medina 6
Newfane erupted for 10 runs in the fourth inning to key the 20-6 win over Medina at Vets Park.

Bailee Palcyk and Kimberly Schmitt both had two hits including a double for Newfane.

Savannah Jo Thompson had two hits for Medina.

Newfane is now 1-2 and Medina 0-1.
