Albion and Medina basketball games ppd.

School closings today at Medina and Akron due to frigid temperatures and a wind chill advisory have wiped out two-thirds of this evening’s schedule of Niagara-Orleans League boys and girls basketball games.

Postponed are Albion vs. Akron and Medina vs. Newfane. The Barker vs. Wilson boys and girls games are sill on.

The Albion vs. Akron games have been rescheduled for February 11 with the boys at Akron at 6:30 p.m. and the girls at Albion at 7 p.m.

The Medina vs. Newfane contests will be made up on Monday with the boys at Medina and the girls at Newfane, both at 6:30 p.m.

In addition, the Albion vs. Medina games which were postponed by the weather on Tuesday have been rescheduled for February 9 at 11:30 a.m. with the boys at Albion and the girls at Medina.

In Genesee Region League action the key contest for the Division II lead will have Lyndonville at Elba at 7 p.m. this evening.

Wrestling Sectionals

Postseason individual wrestling competition gets underway this weekend with the Section V and Section VI class tournaments.

In Section V, Holley-Kendall will compete in the Class BB tournament at Warsaw while Lyndonville will take part in the Class B tourney at Perry.

In Section VI, Albion, Roy-Hart/Barker and Newfane will compete in the Class B tournament at Cheektowaga while Medina, Akron and Wilson will take part in the Class C/D tourney at Eden.
