Albion and Medina split in N-O swim meet

Albion and Medina each came away with a victory in a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet at Albion this afternoon.

Improving to 6-1, Medina won the boys’ meet 63-31 as Isaac Pace doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke and Michael Marker in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke. The Seahorses also had Jaxon Phillips win the 200 Free and Caiden Class the 500 Free.

Finn McCue was a double winner for Albion in the 50 Free and 100 Free.

Albion won the girls’ meet 58-30 to regain the .500 mark at 4-4. Julia Fuller took both the IM and Backstroke and Willow Gaines the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke for the Purple Eagles while Maddy Satkowski doubled in the 100 Free and 200 Free for the Seahorses.

The Roy-Hart boys stayed undefeated at 8-0 with a 106-57 win over Akron as Sean Labiak doubled in the IM and Backstroke and Andrew Ossont in the 50 Free and 100 Free.

The Akron girls took a giant step towards repeating as N-O champions by edging Roy-Hart 89-81. The TigerSharks are now 6-1 and the Channel Cats 5-3. Kaila Szczygielski doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Free for Akron as did Mandy Hill in the IM and Butterfly for R-H.

The Newfane girls improved to 6-2 with a 111-43 win over Barker as Adoree Naylor doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Free, Bridget Martin in the 200 Free and 500 Free and Kimberly Schmitt in the IM and Breaststroke.

The Newfane boys bested Barker 100-41 to improve to 4-4. Elijah Thompson doubled in the 50 Free and Backstroke for the Panthers as did Ryan Santarsiero in the IM and Breaststroke for the Raiders.
