Akron wins to make it an all N-O Class C final

Top seeded Akron posted a 5-0 victory over No. 4 Eden this evening at Alden to set up an all Niagara-Orleans League matchup for the Section VI Class C field hockey championship.

Akron will now face N-O rival Barker for the Class C title at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Alden.

Barker and Akron split a pair of regular season games and shared the N-O title with identical 11-1 records.

Barker, which is the defending Class C champion, defeated another N-O foe, Roy-Hart 6-2 in the other semifinal this morning at Wilson.

Lacey Berghorn scored four goals and Sophia Jones one for Akron whose defense was anchored by goalie Ashley Reiner and center defender Laicy Karczewski.

Akron, which is now 13-1 overall, led 4-0 at the half.
