Akron stickmen down Medina
Undefeated (9-0) Akron used a fast start and a strong finish to down visiting Medina 19-8 this afternoon in a Class D lacrosse game.
Akron jumped out to a 7-1 first period lead but Medina battled back to within three at 9-6 in the third period after goals by Mason Lewis and Jake Cotter.
However, the Tigers answered right back with 3 straight goals to close the period with a 12-7 lead and then erupted for 7 tallies in the final stanza to lock up the win.
Coby Albone had 3 goals, Lewis 2 and Cotter, Brandon Luthart and DaRon Bellan 1 each for Medina which is now 7-3 in D Division action.
