Completing a second straight perfect 12-0 Niagara-Orleans League field hockey championship season, Akron blanked host Barker 2-0 in a rain soaked contest this afternoon.

A cold rain pelted the field for most of the first half which saw Nevada Bergman score what proved to be the game winning goal in the final seconds of the opening quarter off an assist from Lacey Berghorn.

Barker put strong pressure on in the second quarter off a series of corner opportunities but couldn’t capitalize.

Akron finally put a lock on the win and outright possession of the title when Sophia Jones scored with just under five minutes to play in the final period off an assist from Bergman.

Roy-Hart 2, Wilson 0

Roy-Hart finished the N-O season at 6-6 after a rainy 2-0 win over host Wilson.

Brooke Zglinicki scored a goal in each half for Roy-Hart as Alaina Kowalski and Abigail Glyshaw earned the assists.

Medina 5, Newfane 0

Iyla Lilleby scored 3 goals and Brooke Moden 2 for Medina as the Mustangs capped off an 8-4 N-O season with a 5-0 victory over Newfane at Vets Park.

Final Standings: Akron 12-0, Barker 10-2, Medina 8-4, Roy-Hart 6-6, Kenmore 3-9, Wilson 2-10, Newfane 11-1.
