Akron nips Medina in N-O field hockey
In an instant replay of an earlier season’s score, front-running Akron nipped visiting Medina 1-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game this afternoon.
Julia Klodzinski scored the lone goal for Akron in the second quarter off an assist from Mackenzie Tomporowski.
Akron is now 8-0 and Medina 5-3.
Wilson improved to 4-5 with a 3-1 win over rival Newfane on goals by Natalie Rossi, Reese Kepner and Madelyn Krieger.
Barker boosted its record to 7-2 by blanking host Kenmore 5-0 as Madeline Pavlock had 2 goals and Halley Dodge, Ella Taylor and Addison Szafranski 1 each.
