Albion netters blank Newfane

Albion evened its Niagara-Orleans League tennis record at 1-1 with a 5.5-0 victory at Newfane this afternoon.

In singles matches for Albion, Matt Kovaleski defeated Michele Schultz 6-0, 6-1; Connor McQuillan downed Zach Lundy 6-1, 6-0 and Donato Rosario blanked Jayden Heeers 6-0, 6-0.

In sweeping the doubles matches the Purple Eagles had Owen Foos and Victor Benjovsky shutout Madeline Travers and Katelin Beiter 6-0, 6-0; Freeman Lattin and Kastriot Bela defeat Aaron Harrington and Marlee Passuite 6-2, 6-0 and Leonel Rosario and Angel Rosario down Lila Mazuer and Macy White 6-2, 6-2.

In another N-O match, Akron improved to 2-0 with a 5.5-0 win over Barker.

In singles matches for Akron, Nate Chubb blanked Nick Fazzolari 6-0, 6-0; Jacob Meyer defeated Alexander Israel 6-0, 6-1 and Sierra Janis downed Christian Young 6-0, 6-2.

In the doubles matches for the Tigers, Brandon Meek and Will Chubb downed Nick Sutch and Jake Meister 6-3, 6-0; Morgan Wdowka and Eliza Papke blanked Maya Gooding and Natalie Bruning 6-0, 6-0 and Skyler Earle and Sarah Hoefler defeated Marissa Jowdy and Grace Harris 6-0, 6-0.

Holley 3, Alexander 2
A pair of three set victories keyed Holley to a 3-2 win over host Alexander in a Genesee Region League match.

Tyler Hill scored a three set victory at second singles as did the second doubles duo of Dalton Thurley and Steve Morgan to spark the Hawks which also got a straight set win by Dylan McKay at third singles.

Holley, which now 1-1, dropped a 5-0 decision to at Attica on Monday is in the G-R season opener.

Oakfield-Alabama 3, Kendall 2

Collin Lewis at first singles and Jenna LoSapio and Matt Murray at second doubles earned points for Kendall in a narrow 3-2 G-R loss to Oakfield-Alabama.
