Akron grapplers down Medina

Seven forfeits, good for a total of 42 points, keyed Akron to a 62-21 victory over host Medina this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League wrestling match.

Bobby Geiger (106), Hunter Kruger (113) and Charles Beach (195) all registered pins and Joe Velez (126) added a decision win for Medina.

John Fieblekorn (120) and Connor Riggs both had pins and Jacob Sarrow (152) a technical fall win for Akron.

Akron is now 2-0 and Medina 0-2 in N-O competition.

In other N-O action, Newfane defeated host Albion 71-9 and Barker/Roy-Hart bested Wilson 67-11.

Julian Nixon, Adam Nowicki, Paul Dunbar, Cyrus Simmons, Jake Kubala and Chris Johnstone all registered pins for Newfane which improves to 2-0.

Preston Flugel, Aaron Burnside and Blake Aina all had decision wins for Albion which slips to 1-1.

Brent Bachman (120), Andrew Schafer (132), Ryan Ulrich (138),Dillon Mangon (152), Joe Nolan (160), DJ Gardner (170), Jon Page (195) and Collin Anderson (285) all registered pins for Barker/Roy-Hart.

Holley 63, Kendall 19
Pins by Martin Beadle, Pat Purtell, Zach Day and Lucas Silvis led Holley to a 63-19 victory over host rival Kendall in a Genesee Region League match.

Paul Urquhart and Jeremy Browe both notched pins for Kendall.

Holley is now 1-1 and Kendall 0-2 in G-R action.
