Akron golfers edge Newfane to hike lead
Akron edged past Newfane 228-229 this afternoon at Dan Dee Farms to open up a two match lead in the Niagara-Orleans League golf title race.
Akron is now 8-0 while runner-up Newfane slips to 7-2 followed by Medina 6-2, Wilson 3-3-1, Barker 2-6-1, Albion 1-5 and Roy-Hart 0-8.
Drew Romesser shot 43 and Jack Klodzinski and Calvin Jonathan 45 to lead Akron which also downed Barker 228-262 in the tri match..
Trevor Heschke shot 41 and Sam Capen 42 for Newfane which also defeated Barker 229-262.
Joel Harris led Barker with a 46.
In the other N-O match, Wilson defeated Roy-Hart 252-287 at Shelridge as Nathan Meyers hot 46 and Michael Bubar 49.
