Avenging an earlier season 2-1 overtime loss, Akron downed visiting Roy-Hart 5-0 this afternoon to capture the Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer championship.

Akron, which last claimed the N-O crown in 2011, finishes the league campaign with a 9-1 record while runner-up Roy-Hart slips to 6-2-1 with a make-up game against Barker still to play.

Kara Sequin scored 4 goals, including her milestone 100th career goal, to spearhead the Akron attack.

Akron jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half on a pair of goals by Sequin.

Sequin’s milestone goal just 8 minutes into the second half boosted the advantage to 3-0.

A goal by Julia George and another by Sequin rounded out the scoring.
