Akron girls score win over Medina

Two unanswered second half goals earned Akron a 3-1 victory over Medina this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game at Vets Park.

Kara Sequin scored both second half goals for the Lady Tigers to complete her hat-trick.

Medina got a first half goal by Olivia Carter to stay even at the break.

Sequin netted the Lady Tigers opening goal.

Akron is now 2-0 and Medina 0-1 in N-O action.

Newfane 5, Roy-Hart 0
Emily Foltz and Kayleigh Daniels both scored 2 goals and Makena Carpenter 1 to pace Newfane to a 5-0 victory over Roy-Hart.

Newfane is now 2-0 and Roy-Hart 1-1.

Boys Soccer
Alden 4, Holley 1
Alden scored on its first four shots to key a 4-1 victory over the host Hawks this evening in the championship game of the Holley Tournament.

Andrew Cary scored Holley’s goal off an assist from Tyler Hill.

Batavia nipped Roy-Hart 1-0 in the consolation game.

HAC 2, Kendall 0
Host HAC scored a goal in each half to blank Kendall 2-0 in the visiting Eagles season opener.
