Akron cagers upend Lyndonville

Akron bested visiting Lyndonville 38-30 this evening in a low scoring non league boys basketball game.

Adam Mietz scored 14 and Josh Mazza 10 to spark Akron which held leads of 18-12 at the half and 28-21 after three quarters.

Nate Dillenbeck scored 13 and Russ Stephens 11 to lead Lyndonville which is now 8-4 overall.

Dillenbeck and Stephens each scored 5 points in the early going to help Lyndonville grab a 10-7 lead at the end of the opening period.

However, Mietz answered with three threes in the second period to key a 11-2 Akron uprising which vaulted the Tigers into the 18-12 half-time advantage.

Notre Dame 86, Holley 59
Jumping out to a 47-22 half-time lead, Notre Dame went on to defeat visiting Holley 86-59 in a Genesee Region League contest.

Colin McCulley scored 24, Mark Sanders 19 and Gabe MacDonald 17 to lead the way for the Irish.

Carson Major scored 20, Broek Ostrom 14 and Cody Tanis and Jacob Norman 10 each for the Hawks.
