Akron blanks Wilson for B-2 soccer crown

An early goal likewise keyed No. 2 seed Akron to a 3-0 victory over No. 4 Wilson in an all Niagara-Orleans League Section VI Class B-2 girls soccer championship game at Williamsville North this afternoon.

Jenna Robnett scored what proved to be the game winning goal for Akron just 2:35 into the game.

The Lady Tigers made it 2-0 when Amanda Swader scored with 19:41 to go in the half.

Akron later scored the clincher when Robnett found the net again at 24:33 of the second half.

Akron will now face Newfane for the overall Section VI Class B title and a berth in the state playoffs on Tuesday.

Akron and Wilson had split a pair of 1-0 decisions during the N-O season. Akron and Newfane likewise split a pair of N-O meetings by the identical score of 2-0.
