Akron, Barker golfers shine at N-O tourney

Akron successfully defended its Niagara-Orleans League golf title by taking top honors at the All-League tournament held today at Willowbrook.

Akron, which went 12-0 during the regular season, won the tourney with a score of 479. Barker finished second at 488 followed by Newfane 543 and Albion 553.

Akron finished the N-O campaign with a total of 31 points followed by Newfane 23.5, Barker 21.5, Albion 18, Roy-Hart 6, Wilson 4 and Medina 0.

Barker’s Joel Harris was the tourney’s individual champion as he fired an 18 hole total of 81.

Medina’s duo of Dylan Lonnen and Aidan Paul finished second and third with scores of 82 and 85 respectively.

Akron’s Drew Romesser finished fourth with an 89 while Wilson’s Michael Bubar and Akron’s Kelvin Jonathan tied for fifth at 92.
