Akron ‘9 posts key victory over Roy-Hart; Lyndonville, Kendall, Barker bow

Taking over sole possession of first place, Akron edged past visiting defending champion Roy-Hart 5-3 this afternoon in a key early season Niagara-Orleans League clash of unbeatens.

Trailing 3-2, Akron scored three times in the fifth inning to earn the win on an RBI single by winning pitcher Brandon Orr and a two-run single by Derek Holtz.

On the mound, Orr hurled a 3 hitter with 11 strikeouts.

Akron is now 4-0 and Roy-Hart 3-1

Newfane 13, Barker 3
Newfane bested Barker 13-3 as Garrett Srock hurled a onr hitter with 19 strikeouts.

Kyle Jurek had a triple and home run for the Panthers which also got a pair of hits from Matt DiTullio and Lukas Koller.

Newfane is now 1-4 and Barker 0-6.

Alexander 15, Lyndonville 4
A big 9 run sixth inning locked up Alexander’s 15-4 win over host Lyndonville in a Genesee Region League game.

John Wilson had a single, double and home run for Alexander which also benefitted from 6 Lyndonville errors.

Pembroke 9, Kendall 2
Seven errors helped Pembroke post a 9-2 win over host Kendall in another G-R contest.

The Dragons scored 4 runs in the third inn and and then locked up the win with 3 tallies in the seventh.

John Rath scattered 6 hits and strikeout 7 on the mound for Kendall.
